The granddaughter of a Seymour couple finished as first runner-up in the Miss Kansas Teen pageant held June 6-8 at Pratt, Kan.

Kristen Boxman, the granddaughter of Harlan and Ora Boxman, received a $500 scholarship after the competition.

She is the daughter of the Rev. Mark Boxman and Lynn Boxman of Arkansas, Kan.
