Report: Glitches had no effect on ISTEP scores

Server glitches kicked more than 750 Jackson County schoolchildren off their computers while taking the state-mandated ISTEP+ test this spring.

An outside review of those problems released Monday by the Indiana Department of Education found the interruptions had no measurable negative effect on statewide students’ scores, even though they affected nearly a third of the students who took the online portion of the exams.

That finding is not surprising to at least one local educator.
