Run/walk raises money for adult, youth programs

Decked out in layers, a record number of runners and walkers braved the cold to participate in the third annual ValenTimes run/walk Feb. 16.

The first race in the 2013 Crossroads of Indiana Race Series was organized by Leadership Jackson County, with proceeds going to its adult and youth programs.

Race director Chris Marks said a record 215 people registered to participate in the race, which includes a 10-kilometer run and a 5K run/walk along a route that starts at Seymour High School and takes participants through neighborhoods on the city’s west side.
