Run, walk to benefit progeria research



BROWNSTOWN

The seventh annual Zach Pickard Pelican Run is set for 8 a.m. Saturday, beginning at Brownstown Electric Supply Co. Inc., 690 E. State Road 250.

The 5K run/walk is presented by The Progeria Research Foundation and sponsored by Brownstown Electric Supply. Progeria is a fatal rapid aging syndrome afflicting children.

Cost is $25. There will be awards for top overall male and female in the run and walk along with the top two places in 11 different age groups.

There also will be free refreshments and a $500 Visa gift card grand prize giveaway.
