The fifth annual Seymour Half Marathon is set for May 3. This year, there also is going to be a FLASH Jackson County 5K Run and Walk and 1-mile Dog Walk that day.
Registration is from 7 to 8 a.m. at Seymour High School. The half marathon starts at 8 a.m., the 5K begins at 8:10 a.m., and the dog walk is at 8:20 a.m.
You also can stop by Snap Fitness, 1119 W. Tipton St., Seymour, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 30 through May 2 to pick up your registration packet.
Medals will be presented to all finishers. Trophies will be awarded to the overall male and female winners of the run. Run awards will be given to the winner in 10 age groups.
Each participant is required to bring an item to donate to Red Sky Rescue, a dog shelter near Medora. Needs include Purina Dog Chow and Puppy Chow, rawhide bones, medium-size collars, blue Dawn dish soap, bleach, towels and non-fleece blankets.
The event is a part of the Crossroads of Indiana Race Series.
FLASH Jackson County is a nonprofit, low-cost spay/neuter program based out of K9 Campers, 523 E. Second St., Seymour.
