Runners race in state finals

Seniors Ryan Franklin of Brownstown Central and Jack Tormoehlen of Seymour ran in the final cross-country meet of their high school careers on Saturday at Terre Haute.

In the Indiana High School Athletic Association state finals at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross-Country Course, Franklin finished in 16:42 for 85th place out of 206 boys, and Tormoehlen crossed the finish line in 17:10 for 131st place.

Terre Haute South’s Jackson Bertoli won the race in 15:32, which was five seconds ahead of Greenwood’s David Dalton.
