School board races heat up

Two Jackson County residents beat the noon deadline Friday to have their names placed on the ballot for the Nov. 4 election for local school board seats.

That brings the total number of candidates seeking election to school boards in Crothersville, Medora and Seymour to 14. Brownstown Central school board members are appointed.

The two latest candidates are Tereca Schryer, who hopes to be elected to the Seymour Community Schools board of trustees this fall, and Andrew Nehrt, who is seeking re-election to the District 2 seat on the Crothersville Community Schools board of trustees.
