Schools closed; temperature drops to minus

All Jackson County schools are closed today because of the weather and road conditions.

The temperature dropped to minus 1 at 7:54 a.m. The wind chill was minus 12, according to the Brownstown Central High School weather station.

The record low for this date was minus 16, set in 1936. The record high? It was 68 in 1909.

Thursday was the 10th day that Brownstown, Crothersville, Medora and Seymour school districts have closed because of the weather and roads this winter.
