Second Street project contract signed

A $3.5 million project to widen and improve West Second Street in Seymour to increase safety for motorists and pedestrians continues to move along slowly.

City officials signed off on a $300,000 contract Thursday with GAI Consultants of Scottsburg to design the second phase of the project, which goes from Vehslage Road to Springhill Road.

Proposed improvements include adding drainage, curbs, sidewalks, gutters and a storm sewer.
