Senate gun bill moves to governor

A Senate bill that would allow firearms to be stowed away and locked inside vehicles on school parking lots now needs the governor’s signature to become law.

The bill passed the Senate 38-10 and the House 75-24 on Thursday night, the last day of the General Assembly’s short session this year.

If approved by Pence, the law will go into effect July 1.
