Whether Jackson Stuart plays safety or kick returner, he has a full view of the field.
“I can see everything that’s going on. I can see everything that’s coming to me,” the Seymour senior said of playing safety. “It makes it easier to break on the runs and stay deep for the pass.”
He shares kick-returning duties with fellow seniors Tanner Belcher and Hunter Klakamp.
“I just like how I can get to run the ball, actually,” Stuart said. “I don’t get to do that very often, so I take advantage of what I get.”
Stuart began playing football as a fourth-grader at St. Ambrose Catholic School in Seymour. From sixth through eighth grades, he played for Seymour Middle School. He played quarterback his final two years at SMS, as well as a little bit of safety. Beyond that, though, Stuart wasn’t interested in playing quarterback.
