Senior Alex Craig took home the most valuable player plaque along with two other honors from Sunday’s Seymour High School boys tennis awards program in the school cafeteria.

“He stood out as the best player on the team,” Owls coach Brad Emerson said before presenting Craig with his award. “He gave us the best chance to win at the position he played. He had nice wins over Brownstown Central and Floyd Central.”

Craig played at No. 1 singles throughout the season and had a record of 7-9. He was named to the all-Hoosier Hills Conference first team, and he earned academic all-state honorable mention.
