In her senior season of track and field at Trinity Lutheran High School, Brooke Thompson finally got to practice and compete on a home track.
The school had its first home meet at the new facility in May, and the Cougar boys and girls won. Thompson competed in shot put and discus.
“The shot put and discus rings were pretty good compared to some of the other schools. The footing was really good,” she said. “It was a lot easier because throwing on the parking lot and going to other schools, we had to adjust to that and not knowing if we were going to hit the toe board and scratch.”
