Nick Stahl ran onto the field to attempt the first score in Friday’s county rivalry game against Seymour.
The Brownstown Central senior kicker had a chance to set the school record if he made the 45-yard field goal. Much to his delight, he watched the ball spin perfectly down the center of the uprights to give his team a 3-0 lead, and the Braves went on to win the game 30-12.
“I knew how far out I was, and I knew the wind was blowing behind me,” Stahl said. “I knew I could hit the kick, but I was just nervous about whether I was actually going to or not because I kicked a 45-yarder at Charlestown, too, and missed that one real bad.”
