The Trinity Lutheran High School football team was in search of a kicker for the fall season, so coach Anthony Levy looked toward the soccer team.
After a tryout, Levy liked what he saw in Stone Riddle’s kicking ability. Riddle was asked if he’d like to be the kicker, and he agreed to do it.
“A bunch of soccer players went over,” the Cougars senior said. “We just kicked from 20 (yards out) and then 25 and kept moving it back. They told us to come back the next day, so me and Mitchell Flinn went back because I guess we were the best two. We went back the next day, and (the coaches) were like, ‘Well, you’re the kicker if you want to be.’”
