ELKHART — The Seymour 12-year-old Little League all-star baseball team won its Major Baseball State Tournament opener on July 21 at Elkhart.

The team, however, then lost its next two pool games, to Decatur 8-3 on Sunday and to New Castle 5-3 on Monday. After going 1-2, Seymour didn’t advance to the single-elimination championship segment. Decatur made the final four, and New Castle went on to win the state tournament.
