Jack Tormoehlen was tired of being a Hoosier Hills Conference runner-up.
By his count, the Seymour senior had finished as HHC runner-up as an individual once and with the team four times in cross-country and as an individual three times in track — a total of eight second-place finishes.
So Tormoehlen was understandably elated when he was able to capture his first conference title Thursday night in the 3,200 meters. He was especially happy after having finished only third in the 1,600 — an event he was favored to win.
