Seymour Lutheran church plans services for Lent

Immanuel Lutheran Church of Seymour will conduct Wednesday services at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. during the season of Lent, which begins this week.

The 40 days of Lent are a time for Christians to think deeply about the love of Christ that led Him to suffer and die to give us new life, the church said in a news release.

On Ash Wednesday this week, worshipers may receive the sign of the cross in the form of ashes on their forehead, a symbol of repentance and forgiveness.
