Seymour Middle School students write about the best part of year

The best part of this year has been getting a new dog. I now have a 7-year-old pit bull, which is very gentle and loving; and a 5-month-old pit bull puppy. Her name is Sadie and I received her as a gift for my birthday from my mother. I was expecting a duck, but I came home to a beautiful dog. Sadie is black with white places, she has one brown eye, and one blue eye, and is very playful. She is a great dog, and always seems to brighten my day. Sadie has definitely been the best of this year for me.

The best part of this year was going on vacation to Florida. I had lots of fun with my family while we were there. One of the days we got to feed alligators while we were playing miniature golf. I also enjoyed it because it was my first time riding in an airplane. It wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. I actually loved it!

The best part of this year for me was being in Mrs. Fenton’s 8th grade Language Arts class. This was the best thing this year because Mrs. Fenton is a great teacher. I always understand what she is teaching. I’ve learned a lot, for example I now write “a lot” with a space between a and lot, instead of how it is commonly written as one word, and that the word grammar is spelled with an a before the r, not an e. Did you notice I used the word “an” before words beginning with a, e, i, o, or u? She taught me that, too.
