Hoosier Hysteria was on display Friday night at the Cortland Elementary School gymnasium when the Cortland Eagles battled the Shields Owls in a Seymour boys basketball scrimmage.

Earlier this fall, Seymour High School athletic director Brandon Harpe took new Owls coach Kyle Clough to all of the Seymour schools and gymnasiums. The Cortland gym stood out to both of them.

“We just kind of smiled when we walked in here. This is like out of the movie ‘Hoosiers,’” Harpe said. “It’s a shame there is never a game in here, and we kind of looked at each other, and it kind of grew from there. We wanted to see what we could do out here.”
