Seymour's annual Fourth of July fireworks show at Freeman Field will go on as scheduled.
The city announced that decision early Monday morning. A fire and safety team had been monitoring the area where the fireworks show had been held.
Some communities have been canceling or delaying their firework shows because of recent hot and dry conditions, but rain fell in the Seymour area on Sunday night.
The fireworks display, synchronized to music, is set to begin at 10 p.m. Wednesday.
The display is co-sponsored by the city's Parks and Recreation Department, Kremers Urban and WJAA Radio 96.3.
