Seymour girls win track home-opener; boys tie 2nd

The Seymour girls track and field team won the 400 and 1,600 relays and placed first in seven individual events to easily outscore two Hoosier Hills Conference opponents in Thursday’s home-opener.

Seymour had 91 points, Jennings County had 49 and Bedford North Lawrence 24. Jennings County won the boys meet with 69 points, while Seymour tied BNL for second with 49.

Sidney Carr and Zoey Johnson both won two individual events, and girls coach Bob Sexton said he saw

overall improvement over Tuesday’s meet at Columbus East.
