Entering Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne in the fall of 2010, Erin Murphy already had 28 college credits.
The jump-start she got at Seymour High School, plus taking classes year-round once she got to IPFW, helped her receive her bachelor’s degree in three years. Besides going to classes, she played for the Mastodons women’s basketball team all three years.
“Seymour had done a lot of help for me in that way as far as getting those credits and being able to start ahead, and so that was good to know coming in,” Murphy said. “My academic advisers (at IPFW) helped me through everything, and I just stayed ahead throughout the whole three years that I was there. They had us stay there during the summer, and we took classes and practiced.”
