With only one event on which to concentrate, Alyssa Goen felt she gave it her best shot.

The Seymour sophomore had perhaps the best floor routine of her life Saturday afternoon at the IHSAA State Finals at Ball State University’s Worthen Arena. Goen scored 9.1 to tie for 23rd out of 47 competitors in the event.

“I felt like that was one of the best routines that I’ve ever done before,” Goen said. “I had a higher score last week, but this routine, I was really happy with it.”
