A Jackson County man accused of raping a woman earlier this fall was arrested on a Jackson Circuit Court warrant this past weekend.

The arrest of Randall G. Nowland, 32, of 1119 E. Oak St., Seymour, on a Class B felony rape charge stems from an investigation that began in late September or early October. It started when a woman reported the incident to the Seymour Police Department, Detective Greg O’Brien said Monday.

A Class B felony is punishable by six to 20 years in prison and a possible $10,000 fine upon conviction.
