The Seymour and Columbus East girls basketball coaches agreed focus and intensity made a difference in Thursday’s Hoosier Hills Conference game in the Lloyd E. Scott Gymnasium.
“I thought we were the tougher of the two teams tonight,” Seymour coach Jason Longmeier said after the Owls made 18 of 20 free throws in the fourth quarter to post a 63-57 win and increase their HHC record to 2-1 and leave the Olympians 1-1.
“I thought we really competed tonight,” Longmeier said. “With that being said, if you do that, that takes care of a lot of other things. We beat them on the boards 40-28, and that’s a good rebounding team.”
