Seymour officer fighting for job

A Seymour police officer targeted for dismissal wants a hearing before the Department of Public Works and Safety to fight for his job.

City officials have taken steps to fire Officer Jerry Polly, who has not worked since March 9.

Polly has been off work because of what he says was a work-related injury, Chief Bill Abbott said at a recent Board of Works meeting. Polly’s worker compensation claim is being disputed, Abbott added.
