With 5:25 left in the fourth quarter of Friday’s Hoosier Hills Conference boys basketball game at Seymour, the Owls’ Jacob Moore drained his fifth 3-pointer of the night to give the host team a 41-36 lead against Floyd Central.

During a nine-second span, however, the Highlanders’ Drew Hussung hit a 3-pointer and converted a three-point play to give them the 42-41 lead. Seymour’s Zak Lucas hit a free throw to tie the game, but the Highlanders scored the next four points to take the lead for good and returned home with a 50-49 win.

“We certainly scrapped, and Jacob had the best game of his career without a doubt,” Owls coach Scott Miller said. “We clawed back down eight or nine three separate times, had a lead and when we got the lead, we got a little sloppy with the ball and gave it back to them.
