Seymour's Class of 1962 celebrates 50th reunion

Seymour Senior High School Class of 1962 recently celebrated its 50th class reunion at the American Legion Post in Seymour.

Committee chairman Larry Rascoe welcomed the class, and class vice president Bob Dixon gave the invocation.

After the buffet dinner, a class picture was taken. Then a special memorial for deceased members was held with classmates placing a red rose in a vase on the memorial table as each name was read.

Rascoe introduced all the classmates in attendance and then announced the committee for the 55th class reunion to be held in 2017.

Door prizes were distributed by Susie Bode and Charloette Mahoney.

The event was attended by 72 classmates, and there was 118 people in attendance.

Margaret Brown provided music from the ’50s and ’60s throughout the evening.

Out-of-state classmates attended from Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kansas, Ohio, Illinois, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Arizona and New York.

Committee members for the 50th reunion were Rascoe, Patty Baker, Bode, Carol Herndon, Marvina Lewis, Mahoney, Linda Marsh and Linda Trimpe.
