Last weekend’s swim meet at Floyd Central was important to senior Darren Cain for two reasons.
First, it meant that the hardest practices were behind her and the Seymour swim team. And second, the taper for the girls is just around the corner.
“The winter break practices are our hardest practices of the year, and we are really tired. After that, we taper and rest and get ready for conference and sectional,” she said. “The girls team is starting to rest. We really haven’t started our taper yet.”
In dual meets this season, Cain has competed in the 200 medley and 400 free relays, the 100 backstroke and another individual event.
