Seymour wins 4th in a row

The Seymour Owls basketball team has put forth some of its best performances of the season over the past few weeks, coach Jason Longmeier said.

That included Thursday’s 50-36 Hoosier Hills Conference win over New Albany on Senior Night.

“It was a great team effort tonight out of everybody,” Longmeier said. “It was a carry-over from the Scottsburg game into today, and we’re really starting to figure out how to play like a team, and that’s enjoyable to watch, and as a coach, that really pleases me.”

Seniors Logan Personett, Abby Thompson, Brianna Gillaspy, Taylor Gossett and Sidney Carr started for the Owls.

“I told them they’ve hung with us through the change, through the difficult time midway through the season when it seemed like we couldn’t buy a win.” Longmeier said. “At that point in time, this group could have easily packed it in, but they didn’t. They stayed strong, they stayed solid and believed in each other, believed in us, and that’s why we’re where we’re at now.”
