Cuts, scrapes, bruises and twists have long been byproducts of Tyler Hansbrough’s no-holds-barred mentality on a basketball court.
However, one factor behind every floor burn the 6-foot-8 power forward inherits remains far less visible.
A healthy percentage of Hansbrough’s motivation centers on older brother Greg, who is a brain cancer survivor, having undergone surgery at age 7 to have a tumor removed.
Now 29 and living in Chapel Hill, N.C., Greg Hansbrough has gone on to accomplish much in his life. He’s back in school and is an avid marathon runner who has participated in many major long-distance events.
