Slaying suspect Ryan A. Klug, arrested in Galveston, Texas, over the weekend, is jailed roughly 1,100 miles from the apartment in Columbus where police believe he slashed the throat of his female roommate.

The next step will be to find out if Klug, 36, decides to fight extradition to Indiana. That could delay his return to Columbus by one to two months.

However, if Klug agrees to let law enforcement officials transfer him to the Bartholomew County Jail, he could be back by Thanksgiving to face a murder charge in the death of 26-year-old Adaobi M. Obih nine days ago.
