A drastic second quarter for Trinity Lutheran was the turning point for Hauser as the hosts capitalized on it to propel themselves to a 62-47 victory in Tuesday’s boys basketball game.
Trailing 13-12 after the opening quarter, the Jets (2-1) outscored the Cougars 18-1 in the second frame and then answered their counterpart’s challenges throughout the rest of the contest.
Trinity Lutheran (1-1) rallied late in the first quarter to take the lead but either misfired from all angles or mishandled the ball against a scrappy Hauser squad to fall behind 30-14 at intermission. A lone free throw by Craig Stuckwisch was the only thing that prevented the guests from being shut out.
