Slow start hurts Medora in road loss



WESTPORT

Medora's boys basketball team fell behind host South Decatur 20-11 after one quarter on Tuesday night and lost 70-59.

Medora coach Andrew Evertts said his team came within two points of a tie in the second quarter and pulled within four points in the third quarter. But the Hornets weren't able to draw even and slipped to 8-11 for the season.

Bryce Cockerham topped the Hornets with 24 points and eight rebounds, while Kirk Stewart added 17 points.

Taylor Kopplin was high scorer for the Cougars (4-15) with 15 points, and three other players scored 10 or more.
