The three Jackson County high school soccer teams will have a good idea of what to expect from their opponents in next week’s sectionals.
That’s because all three teams played their opponents in matches this week.
In the Class A Sectional 59 at Charlestown, Trinity Lutheran’s boys will play Henryville, a team they beat, 7-0, Tuesday. In the Class 2A Sectional 27 at Columbus North, Seymour’s boys will play Columbus North, a team it tied, 0-0, Tuesday. Seymour’s girls will play Columbus East, which they face today, again in its sectional opener.
Trinity is in a new sectional this season, and the Cougars will play Henryville at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The sectional opens at 6:30 p.m. Monday with Salem playing Austin, and Charlestown will meet the winner at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
During the season, besides beating Henryville, Trinity defeated Austin, 7-0, and Salem, 3-2, but lost to Charlestown, 3-2.
