Sophomore earns Braves MVP award

BROWNSTOWN

As a sophomore in his first season of varsity baseball at Brownstown Central High School, Zach McCory was the leadoff batter and starting third baseman, and he was called upon to pitch a few times.

He delivered for the Braves, batting a team-best .448 and posting a fielding percentage of .919.

During Friday night’s team awards program, McCory earned all-Mid-Southern Conference honors, received the hitting award and found out his teammates voted him most valuable player.
