SHELBYVILLE

For the second time of the season, on Thursday, Southwestern (Shelby) escaped a match against Trinity Lutheran with a 3-2 win.

Trinity's Kelly Stuckwisch won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 singles to move to 6-5 on the season, while Brennyn Pollert scored the Cougars' other point, winning 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and improving to 8-3.

Southwestern won the other matches in straight sets.
