The hands that only seconds earlier let the football slip through them were now partially covering the horseshoes on T.Y. Hilton’s helmet.
No way had he just whiffed on a short pass from quarterback Andrew Luck in the left flat, with nary a defender within 10 yards of him.
Infuriated with himself for the brief lapse in focus, the Indianapolis Colts wide receiver, his head cocked back, engaged in a three-second staredown with the skies directly above Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.
That is if Hilton’s eyes were even open.
