BEDFORD — Bedford North Lawrence exploded for 35 points in the second half Friday night to post a come-from-behind 52-35 Hoosier Hills Conference and homecoming victory.

The Stars outscored the Owls 35-7 in the second half.

When asked what the difference was in the final outcome, Seymour coach Jeff Richey said, “Four turnovers. We gave them seven offensive points.”

The Stars, led by quarterback Jesse Millikan, rushed for 367 yards. Millikan carried 24 times for 114 yards, and Jade Daab carried 14 times for 143 yards.

“We knew that’s what we had to watch for,” Richey said of Millikan’s carries. “We knew he was the key, and we didn’t do a very good job of cutting that off.”

The Owls held a 35-31 lead four minutes into the third quarter after Austin Sutton scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak.

The Stars, however, scored on their final possession of the third quarter to take the lead for good.

Both teams moved the ball on a regular basis in the first half.

The Owls held a 14-10 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 28-17 advantage at the half.
