State will tow abandoned vehicles

Hoosiers are being asked to drive as little as possible with a winter storm warning in effect for much of the state, including south central and southeast Indiana.

Sgt. Noel Houze of the Indiana State Police Versailles Post said the state will tow all abandoned vehicles that might slow down the snow removal process.

As the snowfall that's expected to begin Saturday night and continue Sunday morning, any vehicle found along major roadways that may impede the snow removal process or be a potential traffic hazard will be towed at the owner's expense, Houze said.

The Versailles District serves Bartholomew, Dearborn, Decatur, Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland counties.

If you find your vehicle has been towed, you can contact the post at 800-566-6704.
