Stingy defense proves too much against Tigers

The Crothersville-Springs Valley boys basketball game Friday night was a tale of two halves.

The host Tigers had the upper hand in the first half, but the Blackhawks reversed their fortunes and claimed the second half.

In the first half, Crothersville worked the ball around to get the open shot. But in the second half, it all went away, and the Blackhawks found their momentum, put pressure on the Tigers and walked away with the 63-47 win.

“Our teamwork definitely dropped off in the second half,” Tigers coach Greg Kilgore said. “We went into the locker room at halftime with a seven-point lead. We came out and thought they would come out with a little more pressure, and we needed to make a few more back-door cuts to get the ball in the lane.
