The Class 3A No. 8 Brownstown Central boys basketball team outscored host Floyd Central in the first three quarters of Tuesday’s game and won 64-47.
Braves coach Dave Benter said his team did a lot of nice things during the first 24 minutes of the game. The Braves led 17-10 after one quarter and 35-24 at halftime before outscoring the Highlanders 21-7 in the third quarter.
Some turnovers in the fourth quarter allowed Floyd Central to double up on Brownstown 16-8. But it wasn’t enough for a comeback.
Brownstown’s Chaz Schneider led all scorers with 23 points, including five 3-pointers and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line. Jacoby Shade added 11 points for the Braves (14-3).
J.C. Kinnaird led Floyd Central (3-15) with 21 points. It was the Highlanders’ sixth straight loss.
