The Tribune reported in November on Emily Hume’s school achievements. Despite being a patient at Riley Hospital for Children after a virus attacked her heart in July, the seventh-grader maintains high grades in school.

Homework was a little more fun last week for 12-year-old Emily Hume when she had the chance to complete it with the help of Indianapolis Colts star quarterback Andrew Luck.

Emily, a seventh-grader at Seymour Middle School, has been a patient at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health since July 4 after a mysterious virus attacked her heart.
