Seymour Middle School seventh-grader Chris Clegg shudders at the thought of someone not having a coat or enough clothing this winter.

Instead of just feeling sorry for people, Chris, 13, took action and collected 645 items to donate to the Jackson County Clothing Center as part of the school’s annual coat and clothing drive.

Eighth-grader Daniel Franke, 14, and his family decided it was time to get rid of years worth of hand-me-downs that he and his sister had outgrown and supplied another 635 items.
