Sinking a long putt on the 18th green on Wednesday at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour elicited a smile from Lance Hackman.
He still had three holes to go in the Pepsi Indiana Junior Golf Program Mountain Dew Junior Tour event, and a birdie on the par-3 second hole resulted in another smile and helped him finish with a 2-over 74.
“That’s actually my personal record,” Hackman said. “I thought I was going to shoot good today, but I didn’t think I was going to shoot a 74. I’m glad I did.”
The high school golf season just ended for Hackman, but he is among county boys still out on the course in the summer program. Brownstown Central High School teammate Seth Berry also is in the boys age 15-16 division along with Trinity Lutheran High School’s Parker Criswell and Seymour High School’s Brady Marshall. Chad Stuckwisch of Seymour was the only county golfer in the boys 13-14 division.
Marshall shot 79, while Criswell had 88, Berry 89 and Stuckwisch 96.
