Surveyor’s plan for online zoning maps approved

Jackson County residents with zoning questions soon might be able to go the Internet for answers.

County Surveyor Dan Blann received the backing of county commissioners Tuesday night after he laid out a plan to add zoning layers to the county’s geographical information system.

The addition would bring zoning maps up to date and should save the time of county workers who now must search card files to find the answers to those questions.
