The temperature dipped to a chilly minus 3 degrees Friday morning with wind chill readings as low as minuse 15 degrees.
Jackson County Sheriff Mike Carothers said the frigid weather has area roads slick again this morning. What had melted in Thursday's sunshine froze again overnight.
One vehicle reportedly slid off County Road 700 North shortly before 8 a.m. and overturned into a ditch, he said. No one appeared to be injured, Carothers said.
The high should reach 21 today before snow heads into the area tonight.
The National Weather Service reports Jackson County could see one to three inches of new snow Friday night and Saturday morning.
The low Saturday morning should hit 18, the weather service said.
After a high of 39 on Sunday, more cold temperatures are expected to return Monday with a high of 9 and a Tuesday morning low of -4.
