Tribune by Aubrey Woods George Swegles of rural Brownstown talks about the battery system he used to store electricity generated by a wind turbine he recently installed.

George Swegles and his wife, Denise, moved to an area just west of Ratliff Grove Christian Church about nine years ago.

Swegles says it didn’t take him long to realize it was always breezy at his new rural Brownstown home.

“Sometimes it even annoyed me,” Swegles said of the wind that seemed to blow most of the time.

And then Swegles said he hit upon an idea to make himself a little more energy self-sufficient by harnessing the power of the wind and the sun.
