Three Jackson County residents won People’s Choice Awards during the eighth annual CreativeArts contest and exhibition at the Community Health Fair on Oct. 4 in Columbus.
The winners were announced during a Meet the Artists reception at FairOaks Mall.
The People’s Choice Award winners as voted by the viewers were Joyce Harmon, Crothersville, in Heritage Arts for woodcarving; Sue Walther, Crothersville, in Visual Arts for photography, and Betty Holt, Seymour, in Literary Arts for poetry.
The exhibits will be on display in the display area at the mall until Oct. 25.
CreativeArts categories are Heritage Arts, Visual Arts and Literary Arts.
Participants are men and women, age 50 and older, who are amateur (nonprofessional) artists and writers from Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson and Jennings counties.
The artist reception and health fair were sponsored by Aging and Community Services of South Central Indiana.
